And the twins are....

Identical BOYS!!!! The Rappleye gene of having boys took over...I am totally outnumbered. We are really excited to have more boys- and the added bonus is that we already have 1/2 the stuff we need! :) My due date is still the first week of September but they won't let me go past August 20th so I'm going to say that's my new due date.

The doctor(s) said everything is looking good and then educated me on all the worst case scenarios that could happen with twins- which I'm glad they did but it also puts in the back of my mind all those "what ifs". I asked one dr if there was anything I should be doing to prevent the "bad scenarios" from happening and his response was "If you're not going to church, you should start going and start praying a lot too"- Thanks doc! :) I know everything will go how it's supposed to so I'm not worried. The worst part is that I have to see a doctor pretty much every week already so they can monitor the twins. I didn't expect that. But it will be fun to see all the ultrasounds and watch them grow.

So to those who guessed boys, give yourself a pat on the back :) that was my guess too!

Cali Trip

Brad and I went down to visit Ryan in LA while he was there for work. Brad was surprisingly perfect for the 5 hour drive there and back. Ryan had to work most of the time but we were still able to see him and have fun. We went to the LA temple and walked around. Brad experienced trying to walk up and down the hill and playing on the grass.

Then we went to the beach to play. It was still too cold to be wearing swim suits but at least Brad was able to dip his feet in the ocean. His favorite part was watching the seagulls flying all over the place. His face just lights up when he sees animals move.

Another thing about LA was that Brad got SOOO much attention! Probably because there aren't too many babies around- people just don't have kids there (or they stay at home all day). Everywhere we went, people stopped to talk to him, give him high-fives, or commented about him. Even the people Ryan worked with asked for me to bring him in so they could see him. He loved all the attention too.

And lastly, here is a belly shot... I am now 15 weeks along and doing great.

Walking baby

Brad is walking at 11 months! He started taking 2-3 steps on his own a couple weeks ago and then in the past two days, he decided to just go for it. Of course he is bribed with food (soda) so he has something to focus on (he'll do anything for food). He just loves being able to walk and get around a different way. I can't believe he is almost a year old!

PS- thanks for all the comments on the last post. And to answer some of the questions, both of our families have twins- my uncles are twins and Ryan has two sets on his dad's side (twin aunts and twin uncles). So the odds were against us. I've only had one appointment so far and from what they could see, they believe we are having identical twins. I have another appointment at the end of this month at which I will be 16 weeks along. My cousin said she found out at 15 weeks what sex her twins were so we're hoping they can tell us then! Then maybe it will hit me that this is all real. :)

Surprise!!!

Yesterday, Ryan and I had a huge surprise. We're pregnant. But that's not the surprise... we have known that for a while now. I went in for my first ultrasound yesterday and it turns out that we are having TWINS!!! It was the big joke around here that of course I would be the one having twins since we got pregnant so soon after Brad, so as soon as the nurse said "congrats, you're having twins" I immediately said, "no, you're joking". But she wasn't. There they both were on the monitor moving around. I think I'm still in shock because Ryan is worried at how well I'm taking the news :). That means I will have 3 babies under the age of 18 months, possibly 17 months. And I have always looked at women who have had twins and thought, wow- how on earth does she do it? But I guess in 6 short short short months, we will find out. Yes, I am 12+ weeks along already and they are due to arrive September 1st but will most likely come early. So any advice on surviving with twins (more like triplets) is welcome. You're in shock? Ya- me too.

To finish out 2009...

To close out the year, here are some things Brad has been up to... (his parents are too boring to post about). He has learned how to climb the stairs and we have had NO accidents yet!! (cross my fingers) He loves to climb up them and has recently learned to slide down them.

It has been fun watching him try to solve problems like how to turn himself around to get back down the stairs, or how to duck his head when crawling under the table and chairs so he doesn't bonk his head etc. This kid also LOVES to eat! (especially when its yummy food from Gpa)

Needless to say, his Wii Fit weight is up to 23lbs! And his favorite thing to do now is pull tissues out one by one and tear them up, and of course eat them too.

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!

Christmas... Finally....

Christmas has come and gone... so here are some pictures to show for it!! We had our annual Larkin family party where Santa came and gave us a sneak peak before Christmas! Brad did great sitting on his lap.

Then, my family had a Christmas dinner and then we all went to see Jersey Boys at the Pallazo. We decided, instead of drawing names this year, we would all buy our own ticket to the show and go together. It was really fun- great music! (all the pictures are on my mom's camera...) On Christmas Eve, we drove up to Delta to spend Christmas with Ryan's family. We had a really good Christmas, lots of great food and fun games! I thought Brad would love to rip open his presents but he just looked at them. He did have fun playing with the toys once they were open though :)

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too!
